DNA 손상으로 유발되는 유전체 불안정성은 암, 노화 및 다양한 유전 질환의 주요 원인이다. 본 연구실은 DNA curtain을 포함한 첨단 단분자 이미징 기술과 생화학적 분석법을 활용하여, 크로마틴 환경에서 DNA 손상이 인식되고 복구되는 분자 기전을 규명한다. 이를 통해 유전체 항상성 유지의 기본 원리를 밝히고, 암을 비롯한 다양한 질환의 진단과 치료를 위한 분자생물학적 기반을 제공한다. Genome instability caused by DNA damage is a major contributor to cancer, aging, and various genetic disorders. Our laboratory uses advanced single-molecule imaging techniques, including DNA curtains, together with biochemical approaches to elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which DNA damage is recognized and repaired in the chromatin context. Based on our research, we aim to understand the fundamental principles that maintain genome integrity and provide a molecular foundation for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other diseases.
