To investigate regulatory mechanisms and biological functions of plant small RNAs including their mobility and amplification, we use PORI acting as a dual sensor for miRNA- and siRNA-mediate PTGS to screen out PTGS regulators. As one of the first terrestrial plant lineages that adapted from aquatic environments, M. polymorpha likely experienced diverse environmental stresses that affected its RNA regulatory systems.
