Mitochondria are not merely cellular power plants; they function as central hubs that integrate metabolic and signaling pathways to determine cell survival and fate. In cancer, tumor cells actively reprogram mitochondrial functions to survive under the extreme conditions of the tumor microenvironment and to acquire the capacity for invasion and metastasis. Our laboratory focuses on TRAP1, a mitochondrial chaperone protein that plays a central role in this adaptive process. TRAP1 fine-tunes mitochondrial metabolism and signaling pathways, thereby critically regulating cancer cell survival, motility, and metastatic potential. We aim to elucidate, at the molecular and cellular levels, how TRAP1 enables cancer cells to adapt to hostile environments and how these mechanisms can be exploited as therapeutic targets. Beyond cancer cells themselves, tumors represent complex ecosystems composed of diverse cancer-associated cells, including immune cells, fibroblasts, adipocytes, and vascular cells. Interactions among these cell types dynamically reshape intracellular signaling pathways and mitochondrial metabolic states, ultimately promoting tumor growth and malignancy. Our research extends beyond cancer cells to investigate TRAP1-dependent mitochondrial regulation across multiple cell types within the tumor microenvironment, with the goal of understanding cancer as an integrated network system rather than a single-cell di
